Six reasons to elope

Weddings are expensive + stressful/
Let’s be real, it’s a little gut wrenching to think about throwing away thousands of dollars on one single day. Why not save those funds for your future home, a new car, pay off debt, or even a month long honey moon? Not to mention the anxiety tied into a full wedding day. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had a bride say, ‘I wish we would have just eloped ’. It gets overwhelming sticking to a strict timeline, having a huge bridal party, the overall planning, and being the center of the attention all evening. Sometimes it’s best to just be surrounded by the handful of people you love most and say to hell with the rest.

It takes less time to plan an elopement/
Most brides take 9-12 months to plan their wedding and find their vendors without completely breaking the bank. Elopements require a ton of less work such as the long guest list, bridesmaids shopping, venues (most likely), buying decor, and the list goes on.

You can be more creative and have an epic location/
Here’s my favorite part about elopements; limiting your guest list to under 25 folks and ditching a huge bridal party saves hundreds to thousand of dollars giving you extra cash for fun stuff like food trucks, Airbnb’s, national park mountain views, floral designs, nonwhite wedding dresses, you name it! Let’s get creative!

None of the traditional bullshit/
Awkward bouquet/garter toss, cake feeding, and all of the other go tos because that’s what everyone says to do and it’s what is expected of you. The more people involved, the more opinions that will be stated. Hence to why elopements are short numbered. It’s your day, do you and what feels right! You can even plan to keep it as simple as just you and your sweetheart with your officiant.

Less waste/
No one wants to spend hours cleaning up after the party ends, am I right? And where does it all go? To the landfill! All those plastic cups, plates, pans, and any other reception items (including left over food) that were used on your wedding day go right in the trash. Such. A. Waste.

You can focus on what really matters/
At the end of the day all that matters is that you marry your best friend and can begin planning your future together. Not focusing your day around the material things. Most brides say they can’t even remember their wedding day because it goes by so fast followed by how stressful it was, does that sound like a wedding you want to have? You can splurge on travel to somewhere incredible and have an awesome photographer/video team document the whole day for you to share with everyone who couldn’t make it followed by a small reception back home if you don’t want everyone too mad 😉

Colby + Kelly Wedding | Axson, Ga

Seventeen Creek is one of South Georgia’s hidden gems when it comes to venues. I was so pumped when Kelly inquired and told me her wedding details and named her venue off as I has always heard so many good things about Seventeen Creek and they did not disappoint, neither did Kelly and Colby! They were more than amazing during their wedding and I cannot say enough generous thing about the two of them. Congrats again to the both of you!

Jane + Christie Anna | Sister Session

What was suppose to be an engagement session turned into a sister session and I don’t think we could have had it any other way! Christie Anna is a past bride from three years ago so meeting up for another session and meeting the fam again was a treat. Definitely a session for the books and sister sessions should seriously be a thing!

The Barnes

Earlier this month I shot an elopement at Hames Hall. I immediately fell in love with this venue with all the nooks and crannies, along with the decor and lovely staff. Brittany and Paul made me feel more than welcome and part of the family for their intimate elopement . Their day was surround by friends and family and a whole lot of love! I hope to be a part of more elopements for this venue as its hands down a new hidden gem.

Ashley + Landon | HummingBird Farms

I am so excited to have Ashley and Landon as one of my couples for the 2019 wedding season. They photograph sooo easy and made my job almost too easy. We met up at their wedding venue,

Hummingbird Farms

in Perry, Ga which was a dream during golden hour, even during December. We chatted wedding details and talked about Ashley’s big move after the wedding to Cali to be with Landon, talk about jealous right.? Can’t wait for this wedding at Hummingbird Farms.
